Roda JC Kerkrade sign Jeremiah Mensah on loan from Bayer Leverkusen

Roda JC Kerkrade have completed the signing of German-Ghanaian attacking midfielder Jeremiah Mensah on a season-long loan deal from Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Mensah will spend the 2026-27 campaign with the Dutch club as he looks to gain valuable first-team experience and continue his development.

The 18-year-old has joined the squad immediately and will continue his development in Dutch football.

Mensah has been part of Leverkusen’s academy since the age of seven, progressing through several youth teams. In 2024, he helped the club’s Under-17 side win the West German championship. Last season, he represented Leverkusen’s Under-19 team, gaining valuable experience against some of Germany’s most promising young players.

The teenager also features regularly in Germany’s youth setup. He has represented several national age groups and appeared at both the European Championship and World Cup at Under-17 level. His progress convinced Leverkusen to hand him his first professional contract in April, keeping him tied to the Bundesliga club until 2031.

Roda JC technical manager Rob Servais believes Mensah can make an immediate impact in Kerkrade. “Jeremiah is a creative left-footed player who is most effective behind the striker. We are pleased that Bayer 04 Leverkusen has entrusted him to us for a year,” Servais said.

The loan gives Mensah an opportunity to gain senior experience while Roda JC add creativity and attacking quality to their midfield.
