Ceramica Cleopatra sign Al Ahly striker Nejc Gradisar on loan

Ceramica Cleopatra have signed Al Ahly striker Nejc Gradisar on loan, with the Slovenian forward brought in to strengthen their attack after the departure of Fakhri Lakay.

The club announced the move on Wednesday, presenting the 23-year-old with a warning aimed at opposition goalkeepers. Their message read: “All goalkeepers must beware of his stings… Nejc Gradisar joins Ceramica’s attacking force.”

The transfer had previously been reported by FilGoal.com before Ceramica Cleopatra confirmed the agreement.

Gradisar joins after making 41 appearances for Al Ahly, contributing to 17 goals during his time with the Cairo club. The Slovenia international scored 11 goals and provided six assists in those matches.

His latest appearance for Al Ahly came against Al Nasr Cairo, when he scored twice. That game was watched by Moroccan coach Houcine Ammouta, who has recently taken charge of the team.

Ceramica Cleopatra have recruited Gradisar as a replacement for Fakhri Lakay, who has moved to Libyan club Al Ahli Tripoli. Lakay’s departure left the club needing another attacking option, with Gradisar now expected to provide competition and additional firepower in the forward line.

Gradisar spent the second half of the previous season away from Al Ahly on loan at Hungarian side Ujpest. He played 13 matches for the club and scored once.

The striker joined Al Ahly in January 2025 from Hungarian club Fehervar. Since moving to Egypt, he has added domestic experience and continued to establish himself as an attacking player capable of scoring and creating goals.

At international level, Gradisar has won three caps for Slovenia and has scored one goal for his country.

Ceramica Cleopatra’s announcement places particular emphasis on his finishing threat, reflecting the contribution he made during his Al Ahly spell. The club will hope he can reproduce that form after completing his move and help fill the gap created by Lakay’s transfer.

The deal gives Gradisar the opportunity to play a more prominent role at Ceramica Cleopatra, while the club gain a forward with experience of Al Ahly, Hungarian football and international duty with Slovenia.
