Ceramica Cleopatra sign Iraq winger Peter Korkis on a free transfer

Ceramica Cleopatra have completed the signing of Iraq international Peter Korkis on a free transfer, following the expiry of his contract with Iraqi club Duhok at the end of last season.

The Egyptian club confirmed the arrival of Korkis as their new right winger on Wednesday, describing him as “a skilful marksman who knows the quickest route to goal”.

FilGoal.com had previously reported that Ceramica Cleopatra had reached an agreement to sign Korkis, with only the official announcement outstanding.

Korkis was included in Iraq’s preliminary squad for the World Cup but did not make the final selection. He plays primarily on the right wing and impressed in the Iraqi league during the previous season.

The winger contributed to 23 goals in 30 league appearances, scoring 19 times and providing four assists.

Korkis began his football development in Sweden, progressing through clubs in the country before spending three seasons with Brighton & Hove Albion Under-23s.

He moved from Swedish club Malmo to Duhok in the summer of 2024, where his performances helped establish him as one of the more productive attacking players in the Iraqi league.

His move to Ceramica Cleopatra now marks the next stage of his career, with the club securing his services without a transfer fee after his Duhok contract came to an end.
