Zambia goalkeeper Patrick Chooma joins ZESCO United from Nkana FC
Zambia goalkeeper Patrick Chooma has joined ZESCO United FC from Nkana FC, completing a move between two of the country’s established football clubs.
The 24-year-old made the switch on 12 August 2026 and begins the next stage of his career with ZESCO United. Chooma’s position is goalkeeper, and his arrival gives the club another senior option in that role.
Chooma spent the previous two seasons with Nkana FC after joining the club from Leopards on 1 July 2024. His move to ZESCO United follows that spell in the Zambian game and represents his second club change since leaving Leopards.
Born on 4 October 2001, Chooma is a Zambian national and has remained within the country’s domestic football structure throughout the transfer history recorded for his career. He joined Leopards before moving to Nkana, where he played until his switch to ZESCO United.
The transfer was completed on 12 August, with Chooma’s new club confirmed as ZESCO United FC. No transfer fee has been disclosed.
Chooma has now officially completed his move from Nkana FC to ZESCO United.
