Dusan Vlahovic agrees three-year deal to join Besiktas

Dusan Vlahovic has agreed personal terms with Besiktas and is set to join the Turkish club on a three-year contract, according to reports from Turkey.

The Serbia striker became a free agent on 30 June after his contract with Juventus expired. The two sides were unable to reach an agreement over an extension, allowing Vlahovic to consider offers from other clubs.

Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu, who specialises in transfer news, reported that Vlahovic reached an agreement with Besiktas on Tuesday evening, 11 August 2026.

The proposed contract is worth 8m euros per season, with performance-related incentives potentially increasing his annual earnings to 10m euros. Vlahovic and his agent are also expected to receive a substantial signing-on bonus as part of the move.

Besiktas president Serdar Adalı has travelled to Belgrade to complete the final details of the transfer, according to Turkish broadcaster A Spor. He is expected to return to Istanbul on Wednesday afternoon, 12 August.

The deal would represent a significant success for Besiktas manager Vincenzo Italiano, who wanted the opportunity to work with Vlahovic again. The pair previously spent time together at Fiorentina, during what was one of the most prolific goalscoring periods of the striker’s career.

Vlahovic had been waiting for proposals from several prominent clubs before reaching an agreement with Besiktas. Milan, Napoli and Roma were among the Italian sides linked with him, while Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United were also listed as potential destinations.

However, none of those clubs was prepared to meet Vlahovic’s financial demands. That opened the way for the 26-year-old to move closer to a switch to the Turkish league.

Vlahovic began his European career with Fiorentina, joining the club from Partizan Belgrade in 2018. He moved to Juventus in January 2022 for a fee of 85.4m euros.

His departure from Fiorentina came after he had also been involved in a dispute with the club over the renewal of his contract. The striker subsequently established himself at Juventus before becoming available on a free transfer following the end of his latest deal.

If completed, the move to Besiktas would reunite Vlahovic with Italiano and give the Turkish club a high-profile attacking signing. The agreement currently concerns the player’s personal terms, with the remaining transfer procedures expected to be finalised following Adalı’s talks in Belgrade.
