Bellingham brothers share Emirates spotlight as Dortmund edge Arsenal 3-2

Jude Bellingham watched from the Emirates Stadium as his brother Jobe started for Borussia Dortmund in their 3-2 pre-season victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

The Real Madrid midfielder was seen in the stadium’s VIP section, supporting Jobe and his former club as Dortmund came through an entertaining friendly against the English Premier League champions.

According to The Sun, the 23-year-old made a brief visit to London before the end of his extended summer break. He was able to watch Jobe, 20, named in Borussia Dortmund’s starting line-up and play the full match against Arsenal.

Jude appeared to be in good spirits after Dortmund secured the win, having spent three years with the German club before moving to Real Madrid in 2023. During his time at Borussia Dortmund, he scored 24 goals and provided 16 assists in 132 appearances.

The match offered Jude the chance to see his younger brother continue his own progress at the club. Jobe joined Borussia Dortmund last year and has scored five goals in 49 appearances in all competitions.

Dortmund’s victory came in a competitive pre-season contest at the Emirates Stadium, with the German side scoring three times to overcome Arsenal’s challenge and claim a 3-2 result.

Jude is expected to report to Real Madrid’s pre-season training camp on Monday. His return follows an extended holiday after England finished third at the 2026 World Cup.

The London appearance allowed him to combine that final period of rest with a personal reunion at the stadium, where he watched Jobe represent Borussia Dortmund for the entire game. It also brought together two brothers who have both established themselves in the German club’s first team, although Jude has since moved on to Real Madrid.

Jobe’s appearance against Arsenal came as part of Borussia Dortmund’s preparations for the new campaign. For Jude, it was a rare opportunity to watch his brother from the stands while also returning to London before resuming duties with Real Madrid.

The midfielder’s next step will be to join the Spanish club’s preparations on Monday, as he begins the transition from his post-World Cup break back to club football.
