Galatasaray reassess Wilfried Singo future amid growing transfer interest

Galatasaray are prepared to listen to offers for Wilfried Singo after lowering their previous valuation of the Ivory Coast defender, according to Sabah.

The Turkish club had initially set a €60m asking price for the 25-year-old, but its management has now reduced its demands. Galatasaray are understood to be willing to consider selling Singo if a sufficiently attractive proposal is submitted.

Singo was signed for approximately €30m, making him a significant investment for the Istanbul club. His contract also contains a €60m release clause, reflecting the value Galatasaray placed on the defender when he joined.

Despite that valuation, club officials now appear ready to examine serious approaches for the player and could sanction a departure during the summer transfer window. The change in position marks a shift from Galatasaray’s previous stance, when they rejected attempts from Italian clubs to sign Singo on loan.

Those proposals had been turned away as the Turkish side maintained that it wanted to retain the Ivory Coast international. However, the club is no longer completely closing the door on a permanent transfer, meaning his future is likely to remain a key talking point in the coming weeks.

Singo has recently returned to training on the pitch and remains at the centre of discussions surrounding Galatasaray’s transfer plans. His ability to operate in more than one defensive position continues to make him an attractive option for clubs searching for defensive reinforcements.

The player is contracted to Galatasaray until June 2030. His current market value is estimated at €23m by Transfermarkt, considerably below the €60m release clause previously inserted into his deal.

A sufficiently large bid could still persuade Galatasaray to part with the defender this summer, particularly given the club’s apparent willingness to revise its original financial expectations. Any potential move would need to reflect the investment made in signing him and the importance of his position within the squad.

Singo earns an annual salary of €8m in Turkey, equivalent to 5.2bn CFA francs.
