Arsenal rejoin Liverpool in race to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola

Arsenal have renewed their interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as Liverpool continue to struggle to reach an agreement with the French club over a possible summer transfer.

According to TeamTalk, Arsenal remain keen on Barcola despite Liverpool’s strong interest and have held discussions with the player’s representatives as they assess their options on the left wing.

The Gunners have been closely linked with a move for Atletico de Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, but their earlier attempt to sign Vinicius Junior suggests manager Mikel Arteta is still looking to add a quick, creative wide player capable of making a decisive difference in attack.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have maintained regular contact with Paris Saint-Germain and have held verbal discussions about the outline of a proposal they would be prepared to make for Barcola.

However, the Anfield club have yet to submit a formal offer for the France winger. Paris Saint-Germain are understood to value the 23-year-old at £145m and have so far remained firm on that figure.

Liverpool remain in need of a world-class winger despite signing Victor Munoz. That need could eventually persuade them to move closer to Paris Saint-Germain’s substantial financial demands, particularly after the amount of time and effort they have already invested in trying to complete a deal for Barcola.

Walking away from the negotiations at this stage would be difficult for Liverpool unless they can identify a strong alternative. Arsenal’s renewed involvement could therefore add another twist to talks that have already continued for several weeks.

If Arsenal make a formal approach, the transfer could develop into a direct contest between the two Premier League clubs. Such a battle would strengthen Paris Saint-Germain’s negotiating position and could push Barcola’s already high price even further upwards.

Reports have suggested that Barcola would prefer a move to Liverpool. Nevertheless, Liverpool’s failure to make an official bid means Arsenal still have an opportunity to enter the negotiations decisively and attempt to influence the player’s position.

Liverpool briefly shifted their attention away from Barcola after reportedly reaching an agreement to loan Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo. His move to Anfield is expected to be completed in the coming days.

With the club’s defensive concerns closer to being resolved, Liverpool can now return their focus to strengthening the attack. Barcola has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to leave the club during the current summer transfer window.

Arsenal have already completed the signing of Bruno Guimaraes and are now working to reinforce their forward line. Their efforts to sign Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior were unsuccessful, increasing the importance of their search for an attacking player.

A move for Barcola would give Arsenal another option on the wing while also allowing them to challenge Liverpool for one of the most prominent targets still available in the transfer market.
