Endrick’s Santiago Bernabeu pathway blocked as Premier League talks begin

Brazil forward Endrick is reassessing his future at Real Madrid after becoming frustrated by limited first-team opportunities, with his representatives exploring a possible move to one of eight Premier League clubs during the current transfer window.

The 20-year-old had hoped to return to Santiago Bernabeu this summer ready to compete for a regular starting role, following an impressive season on loan at French club Lyon.

However, Real Madrid’s plans for their attack have changed significantly in recent weeks. The Spanish club have signed Carlos Espi to strengthen the forward position and completed a deal worth more than £100m for Yan Diomande. They have also extended Vinicius Junior’s contract on a long-term basis.

Those developments have increased Endrick’s concerns that regular first-team football will be difficult to secure in Madrid.

According to Teamtalk, the forward and his representatives have begun assessing the next stage of his career. His advisers, working with intermediaries, are sounding out the possibility of a transfer, with the Premier League understood to be Endrick’s preferred destination if he leaves Spain.

A move to England was seriously considered by Endrick before he chose to join Real Madrid, and the prospect of playing in the Premier League remains attractive to him.

Chelsea have maintained an interest in the Brazilian for some time and have renewed contact over a potential deal. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Fulham have also held discussions about Endrick’s situation.

Despite the growing list of interested clubs, any agreement will ultimately depend on Real Madrid’s position. Endrick’s representatives have already opened talks with the Spanish club over the possible structure of his departure.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez remains one of the young player’s biggest admirers and does not want to abandon the club’s long-term project for Endrick at Santiago Bernabeu. That position remains unchanged despite the player’s increasing concerns over his prospects of playing regularly.

The club’s preferred solution is reportedly another loan spell, following the arrangement that took Endrick to Lyon last season. Real Madrid would want the deal to be completed without an option for the borrowing club to buy him permanently.

That structure could appeal to Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Fulham, who are understood to be open to signing the forward on those terms.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, by contrast, have indicated that they would only give serious consideration to a deal if it included an option to purchase Endrick.

Negotiations remain ongoing between all parties. Endrick’s representatives are continuing discussions with Real Madrid over the weekend as they seek an agreement that addresses the player’s desire for more regular football while protecting the Spanish club’s investment in him.
