Abdullah Al-Salem says Al Qadsiah are targeting silverware amid Al Hilal rumours

Abdullah Al-Salem has confirmed he intends to remain with Al Qadsiah, dismissing reports linking him with a move to Al Hilal during the current transfer window.

The Saudi Arabia forward said he was settled at the club and focused on helping them achieve their objectives in the new season. He also made clear that he had no knowledge of the offers being discussed in reports about his future.

“I am settled and continuing with Al Qadsiah, and I am seeking to serve the club. I do not know anything at all about these offers,” Al-Salem told Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat.

Al-Salem’s comments come as speculation continues over a possible move to Al Hilal before the end of the transfer window. However, his public position is that his immediate future lies with Al Qadsiah, where he wants to play a part in the club’s push for success.

The striker also underlined the scale of Al Qadsiah’s ambitions for the upcoming campaign, saying the team’s objectives extend beyond simply competing.

“Our ambition this season is to win a trophy with the team,” he said.

Al Qadsiah have spent the recent period preparing for the new season, including a training camp in Spain. Al-Salem described the camp as a major success and suggested the squad had benefited from the work completed during their preparations.

“The Spain camp was very successful,” he said.

The forward also praised the work carried out by Al Qadsiah’s management over the past few seasons. He said the club’s officials had invested considerable effort in developing the team and building a long-term project.

“Al Qadsiah’s management has worked hard in previous seasons to make the club’s project a success,” Al-Salem said.

The player believes that work is now beginning to produce the results the club had been seeking. He said Al Qadsiah were approaching the point where they could benefit from the foundations laid in earlier campaigns.

“I believe this season will be the season when we reap the rewards,” he added.

Al-Salem’s remarks close the door, for now, on suggestions that he could leave Al Qadsiah for Al Hilal during the current window. His focus instead remains on the club’s preparations and its bid to win a trophy in the new season.

The comments also reflect Al Qadsiah’s belief that the progress made by the club’s management in recent seasons can lead to tangible success.
