Arsenal renew Emirates partnership through to 2033 after title success

Arsenal have extended their strategic partnership with Emirates until 2033, preserving one of the longest-running and most prominent commercial relationships in football.

The new long-term agreement, announced by the club on Thursday, means the Emirates logo will remain on Arsenal’s first-team shirts and training wear. It also retains the airline’s naming rights for Emirates Stadium, continuing a relationship that began in 2006.

The renewal maintains Emirates’ position as Arsenal’s shirt sponsor in what is regarded as the longest-running shirt sponsorship partnership in Premier League history. The agreement will now take the relationship between the London club and the airline into a new phase lasting until 2033.

The announcement comes after Arsenal’s Premier League title triumph. The club described the agreement as an important step in supporting its ambitions for the coming years and building on progress made both on and off the pitch.

Richard Garlick, Arsenal’s chief executive, said: “Winning the Premier League title is an exceptional moment in the club’s history, and Emirates has been an essential partner on this journey, standing by our side through the various stages we have experienced over the past two decades.”

He added: “Renewing the partnership reflects both parties’ belief in Arsenal’s future and their shared desire to continue developing and achieving further success.”

The airline’s president, Sir Tim Clark, said the relationship had developed beyond a conventional sponsorship arrangement. He said Arsenal and Emirates had built a unique experience for millions of the club’s supporters around the world during their years of cooperation.

Clark also said the partnership had helped strengthen Arsenal’s global reach and enabled the two organisations to deliver fan initiatives and experiences that would not have been possible without their collaboration. He added that Emirates was looking forward to continuing to write a new chapter in its history with the London club.

Arsenal and Emirates are expected to mark the 20th anniversary of their partnership in the coming weeks with a series of events and activities for supporters. A new promotional film will also be released, highlighting key moments from the relationship between the club and the airline.

The film will feature Arsenal legend Per Mertesacker, the former Germany international and club captain.

The next stage of the partnership will begin as Arsenal host Borussia Dortmund in the Emirates Cup, a pre-season friendly competition staged at Emirates Stadium. The match will form part of special celebrations marking the continuation of the agreement.

The original partnership, launched in 2006, has covered both Arsenal’s playing kit and the stadium’s naming rights. Its extension to 2033 ensures that the association will continue for almost three decades, while giving the club and Emirates a platform for further commercial and supporter-focused activity.
