Wesley Teixeira heads back to Brazil with Cruzeiro move from Al-Nassr

Al-Nassr have confirmed that Brazilian forward Wesley Teixeira will leave the Saudi Pro League club on loan for a second successive season, joining Cruzeiro until the end of next season.

The 21-year-old’s move was announced by Al-Nassr in a post on the club’s official account on X. The agreement will take Teixeira back to Brazil after a difficult spell in Saudi Arabia, where he has been unable to establish himself as a regular starter.

According to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya, Cruzeiro will not have the option to make the transfer permanent when the loan ends. The Brazilian club will also take responsibility for 80% of Teixeira’s salary, leaving Al-Nassr to pay the remaining fifth of his wages during the agreement.

The arrangement reduces the financial commitment required from Al-Nassr while allowing Teixeira to continue his development with Cruzeiro. It also marks the second consecutive loan spell for the player since he joined the Saudi club.

Teixeira spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Sociedad. However, his time in Spain produced limited opportunities, with the Brazilian making only five appearances and failing to score or provide an assist.

He moved to Al-Nassr in the summer of 2024 from Brazilian club Corinthians, but has not secured a regular place in the side since arriving. Across all competitions, Teixeira has played 40 matches for the Saudi club, scoring five goals and registering five assists.

His latest departure means he will now return to Brazil to continue his career at Cruzeiro, while Al-Nassr retain the player’s registration and remain responsible for part of his salary. The loan is scheduled to run until the end of the next season, with no provision for Cruzeiro to sign him permanently.
