Trabzonspor make move for Dusan Vlahovic as Mohamed Salah pursuit continues

Trabzonspor have entered the race to sign Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic after his departure from Juventus, with the Turkish club contacting his agent and submitting an initial proposal for the forward.

The approach comes as Trabzonspor continue their efforts to complete a deal for Egypt and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, while also pursuing what would be another high-profile addition to their squad.

According to Turkish website sporx, Trabzonspor have made contact with Vlahovic’s representatives to discuss a possible move. The club’s opening offer is understood to be aimed at securing the striker’s services following his exit from Juventus.

Vlahovic is currently considering his next move, but his preference remains a transfer to Barcelona. The Serbia international is waiting to see whether the Spanish club will change its position before committing to another offer.

Spanish newspaper Sport reports that Vlahovic has had a proposal from Besiktas for almost a month. The package includes a signing-on bonus of more than 5m euros and a net annual salary of 8m euros in each of the two proposed seasons.

Vlahovic initially asked for time to consider the Besiktas offer. The Turkish club’s board then gave him until 10 August to provide an answer, but the player requested further time as he continues to wait for clarity over Barcelona’s plans.

His representatives had offered him to Barcelona at the start of the transfer window. However, the Catalan club made it clear that Vlahovic was not a priority, particularly because his initial financial demands were considered unsuitable.

Those demands included a 10m-euro signing-on bonus and a net annual salary of 8m euros. Barcelona’s response has left Vlahovic weighing whether to wait for a possible opportunity at the club or accept one of the offers already available to him.

Besiktas have therefore remained a serious option, while Trabzonspor have now joined the competition with their own proposal. The Turkish side’s approach gives Vlahovic another possible destination as he considers his future after Juventus.

For Trabzonspor, the move represents a second major transfer pursuit. Their continued attempts to secure Salah remain ongoing, and the club have now turned their attention to Vlahovic as they seek to strengthen their attacking options with an established international striker.

No final decision has yet been reported on the offers from Trabzonspor or Besiktas. Vlahovic’s preference is still to wait for Barcelona, meaning his next step will depend in part on whether the Spanish club decides to reconsider its stance and make an approach.
