Al Ahly decide to keep Omar El Saai and Ahmed Eid for next season

Al Ahly have decided to retain Omar El Saai and Ahmed Eid for the coming season, following the assessment of head coach Hussein Ammouta.

FilGoal understands that both players will remain with the Egyptian club as part of Ammouta’s plans for the first team. The decision settles the immediate futures of two players whose situations had been closely linked to Al Ahly’s dealings with Al Masry.

El Saai spent last season on loan at Al Masry after leaving Al Ahly temporarily. His return had therefore been a matter for the club’s technical staff to determine, with Ammouta now opting to keep him in the squad for the new campaign.

Eid, meanwhile, joined Al Ahly from Al Masry in January. His move took place during the second half of the previous season, and he will now continue with the Cairo club rather than returning to his former side.

The decision to retain the pair comes as Al Ahly and Al Masry continue to be involved in several player movements during the current transfer period.

Al Ahly had agreed to sell Mohamed Shokry to Al Masry. The defender joined the Port Said-based club a few days ago, completing a permanent move between the two Egyptian sides.

Goalkeeper Mohamed Ahmed, known as “Seha”, has also moved from Al Ahly to Al Masry on loan. In addition, Al Ahly have renewed Mostafa El Ash’s loan move to Al Masry for the coming season.

Those departures contrast with the club’s decision to keep El Saai and Eid, with Ammouta’s view determining which players will remain part of the Al Ahly squad.

FilGoal previously reported that Al Ahly had decided to grant Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed his release papers, allowing him to leave the club. His departure is therefore part of the wider changes being made to the squad ahead of the new season.

Al Ahly have also reached an agreement with Qatari club Al Shamal regarding midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan. The report did not provide further details of the agreement, but confirmed that the two clubs had reached an understanding over the player.

The latest decisions outline a mixed approach from Al Ahly in reshaping their squad. Some players have been sold or loaned to Al Masry, while El Saai and Eid will stay after being assessed by Ammouta. The club’s agreement involving Ben Ramadan and the planned departure of Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed are also part of the changes being made before the next campaign.
