Antoine Sekongo joins Samsunspor from Dunkerque in Super Lig move

Mali and Ivory Coast midfielder Antoine Sekongo has joined Samsunspor from French club USL Dunkerque, completing a move to the Turkish Super Lig.

The 22-year-old central midfielder leaves Dunkerque after two seasons with the Ligue 2 side. Sekongo made 58 appearances in Ligue 2, scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists during his senior career. He also recorded 14 goals in 21 National 3 appearances.

Sekongo began his time at Dunkerque after joining from Stade Reims B on a free transfer in July 2024. He had previously played for AFE before moving to France, joining Reims B in July 2023.

The midfielder was born in Attecoube and holds Malian and Ivorian nationality. He is 1.78m tall and favours his right foot, with central midfield listed as his primary position.

His arrival gives Samsunspor a player with experience in France’s second tier and a record of contributing both goals and assists from midfield. Sekongo’s move also marks his first transfer away from French football since beginning his senior career there.

Sekongo’s transfer to Samsunspor was completed on 1 August 2026.
