Mohamed Amoura transfer talks reach final stage with Germany move still on the cards

Mohamed Amoura is close to ending his time at VfL Wolfsburg, but the Algeria international is expected to remain in the Bundesliga after deciding to leave the club.

The 26-year-old forward is seeking a new challenge following a difficult season for the German side, which was relegated to the second division. Amoura remains under contract with VfL Wolfsburg until 30 June 2029 and is currently valued at €20m by Transfermarkt.

According to exclusive information from Maghreb-Foot, negotiations over the former Union Saint-Gilloise player’s transfer have entered their final phase. Talks conducted by Amoura’s representatives are understood to have made significant progress, with an official announcement about his next club potentially coming within the next few days.

Amoura’s agent has confirmed that discussions are advancing, while the player’s representative has also provided an important indication about the identity of his expected destination.

That information appears to rule out reported moves to Benfica and Everton. Instead, it suggests Amoura’s career will continue in Germany, with a transfer to another Bundesliga club now thought to be the most likely outcome.

The forward’s departure would bring an end to his spell at VfL Wolfsburg after a season affected by the club’s struggles and eventual relegation. Despite those difficulties, his contract situation and market valuation mean the German club are in a position to secure a substantial fee if an agreement is completed.

Amoura’s current deal runs for a further three years beyond the end of the 2025-26 campaign, but the player has reportedly decided that a change is necessary after Wolfsburg’s fall into the second tier. The progress of negotiations indicates that his next move could be resolved shortly.

The Algeria international is reported to earn an annual salary of €4.72m, equivalent to 3.068bn CFA francs.
