Nobel Mendy poised for England move as Hull City agree €18.5m fee with Rayo Vallecano

Hull City are in advanced negotiations to sign Senegal centre-back Nobel Mendy from Rayo Vallecano after the Spanish club accepted an €18.5m offer for the 21-year-old.

Mendy, who is under contract with Rayo Vallecano until 30 June 2030, is expected to leave before the close of the summer transfer window, with Hull City pushing to complete the deal.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Hull City have reached an agreement in principle with the La Liga side over the transfer fee. Only a number of final details are understood to be outstanding before the move can be made official.

The English club, described in local reports as a Premier League outfit, have tabled a bid significantly above Mendy’s current estimated market valuation. According to figures on Transfermarkt, the defender is valued at €7.5m, less than half of Hull’s proposed fee.
