Mohamed Salah: Fenerbahce eye move for Egypt star after Liverpool exit
Mohamed Salah, the Egypt forward currently without a club after leaving Liverpool, is the subject of interest from Turkish side Fenerbahce in a high-profile free transfer move. The Super Lig club are exploring the possibility of signing the 34-year-old right winger, who became a free agent on 1 July 2026.
Salah’s availability without a transfer fee and a current market valuation of around €22m has alerted Fenerbahce as they look to add proven attacking quality. The Istanbul club are weighing up whether they can structure a deal that reflects his status as one of European football’s most productive forwards over the past decade.
The move would come at the end of a glittering Anfield spell that began in 2017, when Salah joined Liverpool from Roma in a €42m deal. He went on to help Liverpool win the Champions League in 2018-19 and multiple domestic honours, including the Premier League title in 2019-20 and again in 2024-25.
Salah’s goalscoring record remains formidable. In the Premier League alone he has scored 193 goals and provided 95 assists in 328 appearances, averaging a goal every 139 minutes, while also reaching 50 goals in 98 Champions League games. His individual accolades include being named African Footballer of the Year twice and finishing as Premier League top scorer in five separate seasons, most recently in 2024-25 with 29 league goals.
Despite his age, Salah has continued to feature prominently at international level, starting every match for Egypt at the 2026 World Cup and contributing to three goals in five appearances. For now, he remains a free agent, with Fenerbahce assessing whether they can turn their interest into a formal offer.
