Sanad Al-Warfali: Swehly linked with move for Libya defender from Al-Ahli Tripoli

Libya international centre-back Sanad Al-Warfali of Al-Ahli Tripoli has been linked with a move to fellow Libyan Premier League side Swehly.

The 34-year-old left-footed defender, who stands at 1.86m, is currently valued at 75,000 and remains on the books of Al-Ahli, with the potential switch emerging during the current transfer window.

Al-Warfali rejoined Al-Ahli from city rivals Al-Ittihad in September 2023, returning to the club where he has spent much of his domestic career and where he also represents the Libyan side at national-team level.

Before his latest spell in Tripoli, he played for Al-Ittihad from 2021, having arrived there from Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic, where he initially moved on loan from Al-Ahli in 2018 before making the transfer permanent.

During his time at Raja, Al-Warfalis market value rose to 700,000 by the end of 2019, reflecting his status at that stage as a key defensive option in North African club football.

His valuation has since declined, with the most recent update in June 2026 confirming the 75,000 figure as he approaches the later stages of his career.

The rumoured interest from Swehly would keep Al-Warfali in the Libyan Premier League, maintaining his long-standing presence in domestic football after spells with both Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad, as well as his experience abroad in Morocco.

No agreement between Al-Ahli and Swehly has been reported, and the move currently remains at the rumour stage.
