Maxence Bossard: Plougastel Sign 20-Year-Old Centre-Back on Free Transfer from Saint-Renan
Plougastel have signed defender Maxence Bossard from Saint-Renan on a free transfer, adding the 20-year-old centre-back to their squad ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Bossard, a right-footed central defender, joins Plougastel after a year with the Saint-Renan first team, having previously progressed through the clubs youth ranks. The France- and Mali-eligible defender stands at 1.96m, giving Plougastel additional height and physical presence at the back.
Born on 2 May 2006, Bossard has already experienced several moves within the French system. Before breaking into the Saint-Renan senior side in 2025, he featured for EA Saint-Renans U19s following a switch from EA Guingamp U19 in 2024. His earlier development included a spell with EA Saint-Renans U17 team prior to joining Guingamps youth set-up in 2023.
Bossards arrival continues a pattern of steady progression through regional French clubs into senior football, with his move to Plougastel marking the latest step in his career. He is registered with Plougastel as a central defender and is listed as part of the Plougastel FC set-up at national-team level.
The transfer was completed on 7 July 2026, with no fee involved in the deal between the French clubs.
