Wisdom Amey: Bologna defender joins Frosinone on loan in Serie A move
Frosinone have signed centre-back Wisdom Amey from Bologna on a loan deal for the 2026-27 season, strengthening their defensive options with one of Italian footballs highly regarded young defenders. The move keeps the 20-year-old in Serie A, with the transfer completed as a loan from the Emilia-Romagna club.
Amey, who is 1.82m tall and right-footed, arrives at Frosinone with a market value of 800,000. Born in Bassano del Grappa on 11 August 2005, he is eligible for both Italy and Togo and is listed primarily as a central defender. His profile adds youth and mobility to Frosinones back line, while maintaining his development pathway in Italys top flight.
The loan follows Ameys return to Bologna this summer after a season with US Pianese. That spell came after time split between Bolognas senior squad and their Primavera side, reflecting a rapid rise through the clubs youth structure. An upcoming return to Bologna is already scheduled for 30 June 2027 at the end of the loan, underlining the parent clubs continued connection to the player.
Amey has been part of Bolognas system since 2019, progressing from their youth ranks through the Under-17s and Primavera sides into the first-team picture. Before that, he spent time in the youth set-ups at Vicenza and Bassano, developing within the Italian academy system from an early age.
His market value has risen sharply in the past year, climbing from 300,000 at Pianese in December 2025 to 800,000 by June 2026, highlighting the trajectory that has now led to his move to Frosinone.
