HSV consider move for Yanis Cimignani

Hamburger SV are weighing up a move for Yanis Cimignani as they continue to search for reinforcements in Switzerland.

Reports in Germany say the 24-year-old FC Lugano player is on the club’s radar, with the Frenchman viewed as a versatile option for the flanks.

Cimignani has also been linked with Schalke 04 in French media, but that trail has cooled, and the latest reports suggest the Gelsenkirchen club are no longer actively involved. For HSV, though, the interest appears more concrete as they look to strengthen the squad before the new season.

The former youth player is under contract in Lugano until 2027 and played a big role last season, appearing in 38 competitive matches. He finished the campaign with three goals and one assist, numbers that do not jump off the page but still underline his usefulness across both wings.

Transfermarkt currently values Cimignani at around €2 million. That makes him a realistic target for a club like HSV, especially if they want depth and flexibility without spending heavily. For now, there is no final decision, but his name has clearly entered the discussion in Hamburg.
