Arsenal step up interest in RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa ahead of January transfer window

Arsenal are seriously considering a move for RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attacking options during the January transfer window.

According to The Sun, the Premier League side have been monitoring the 21-year-old and are keen to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Nusa has attracted attention following his impressive performances for Leipzig, including scoring in Wednesday’s 3-2 Champions League defeat against Manchester City.

However, securing his signature could prove difficult, with Leipzig reluctant to lose one of their key attacking players midway through the season.

The Bundesliga outfit are also under no financial pressure to sell, having reportedly received around £120 million from Yan Diomande’s summer transfer to Real Madrid.

Furthermore, Nusa remains under contract with the German club until June 2029, strengthening Leipzig’s negotiating position.

Arsenal looking to strengthen left-wing options

Arsenal’s interest comes amid changes to their attacking department following the departures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

The Gunners signed Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge during the summer transfer window, but the Norwegian’s emergence at Leipzig has reportedly made him an attractive target for Arteta.

Eberechi Eze has also been deployed on the left flank, although Arsenal are keen to add further quality and depth to their attacking options.

Nusa’s pace, dribbling ability and versatility make him an appealing candidate as Arsenal prepare for the second half of the campaign.

Despite their interest, the Gunners face a difficult task convincing Leipzig to sanction a January departure, with the German club determined to retain the winger’s services.

For now, Arsenal are continuing to monitor the situation as they assess their options ahead of the winter transfer window.
