Schalke move for Junior Dina Ebimbe cools

Junior Dina Ebimbe’s possible move to Schalke has lost momentum, with new reports suggesting a deal is not close despite earlier optimism.

Sky says the French midfielder would like to move to Gelsenkirchen, but the clubs remain far apart on valuation and no talks are currently underway.

Earlier reports had suggested Eintracht Frankfurt and Schalke were nearing common ground, but that picture has now changed. Frankfurt are still believed to want around €3 million, while Schalke are only prepared to spend about €1 million. That gap has become the main obstacle, not the player’s willingness to join.

For the 25-year-old, the situation is frustrating because he appears open to the switch. For Schalke, however, the financial limits of the deal make a breakthrough unlikely for now. Unless one side softens its stance, the transfer looks set to stall.

The latest assessment is that a move is “rather unlikely,” or rather unlikely at this stage. That leaves Dina Ebimbe in Frankfurt for the moment, even as Schalke continue to search for ways to strengthen their squad before the window closes.
