Joseph Nduquidi: FC Metz midfielder joins Farense in permanent move
Joseph Nduquidi has left FC Metz to join Portuguese side Farense in a permanent transfer, bringing the 21-year-old central midfielder to Liga Portugal 2 ahead of the 2026-27 season. The move from the Ligue 2 club has been completed for an undisclosed fee, with Nduquidi currently valued at 350,000.
Born in Metz on 31 October 2004, Nduquidi arrives in Portugal as a right-footed central midfielder standing 1.87m tall, offering Farense a physically imposing option in the middle of the pitch. Eligible to represent both Angola and France, he has spent his entire senior career to date in French football.
Nduquidi returns to the continent from a recent spell at Amiens SC, where he played on loan from Metz during the 2025-26 season. That move was finalised on 1 September 2025 and concluded at the end of the campaign, with the midfielder going back to Metz on 30 June 2026 before securing his transfer to Farense a week later.
A long-term product of the Metz system, Nduquidi progressed through the clubs youth ranks after joining from US Forbachs youth set-up in 2017. He advanced from Metzs youth team to the under-17s in 2019, then to Metz B in 2021, before stepping up to the first team on 31 August 2023.
Nduquidis market value rose steadily during his early senior years at Metz, peaking at 800,000 in mid-2024, before adjusting downward over the following seasons to its current level. His move from Ligue 2 to Liga Portugal 2 marks the first time he has played his club football outside France.
