Amine Bassi: Morocco-France playmaker linked with move to Panetolikos

Morocco-France attacking midfielder Amine Bassi, currently without a club after leaving Houston Dynamo FC, is being linked with a move to Greek Super League 1 side Panetolikos.

Bassi, 28, is a right-footed attacking midfielder valued at around 2.5m and is available as a free agent, opening the possibility of Panetolikos strengthening their creative options without paying a transfer fee.

The Bezons-born playmaker most recently played in Major League Soccer with Houston Dynamo, having joined the American club from French side FC Metz in January 2023 before becoming a free agent at the start of 2026.

Before his spell in the United States, Bassi featured in Frances top two tiers with Metz and AS Nancy-Lorraine and had a loan stint in England with Barnsley, adding experience across Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and the Championship to his profile.

His market value peaked during his time in Houston, reaching an estimated 4.5m in 2024 before gradually declining to its current level following his departure from the MLS club.

Talk of a potential switch to Panetolikos remains at the rumour stage, with no agreement in place and Bassi still unattached as he weighs up his next move.
