Stade Reims eye move for Iberia 1999 right-back Armel Zohouri

Stade Reims are being linked with a move for Ivorian defender Armel Zohouri, who currently plays for Georgian side Iberia 1999 Tbilisi.

The 25-year-old right-back, valued at around 500,000, has emerged as a potential target for the French club as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new Ligue 2 campaign.

Zohouri joined Iberia 1999 Tbilisi in July 2025 from FC Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova and has since seen his market value fluctuate, rising to 600,000 at the end of 2025 before settling at 500,000 in June 2026.

A right-footed defender standing at 1.76m, Zohouri was born in Divo, Cote d’Ivoire, and has developed a reputation as a specialist at right-back, offering a profile that could fit Reims needs in the wide defensive areas.

Before his move to Georgia, he spent three seasons with Sheriff Tiraspol, having joined the Moldovan club from Swiss side FC Lausanne-Sport in August 2022, a spell that helped maintain his market value in the mid six-figure range.

Zohouris European career began when he left Racing Club Abidjan for OGC Nice in 2020, later moving on loan and then permanently to Lausanne-Sport, giving him early experience in both French and Swiss football environments.

The rumoured interest would also mark a return to France for the Ivorian, with Reims competing in Ligue 2 and exploring options to add depth and experience to their back line.

No agreement has been reported between Iberia 1999 Tbilisi and Stade Reims, and the defender remains under contract with the Georgian club as the rumour stands.
