Hamburg linked with move for FC Lugano winger Yanis Cimignani
Hamburg are being linked with a move for FC Luganos French-Burkinabe winger Yanis Cimignani as the German club assess wide attacking options ahead of the new season.
Cimignani, a 24-year-old left-footed midfielder who primarily operates on the left, currently plays in the Swiss Super League for Lugano and is valued at 2m. He wears the number 21 shirt for the Swiss side.
Born in Lyon in January 2002, Cimignani represents both France and Burkina Faso at nationality level and combines a relatively compact 1.76m frame with a profile suited to operating in wide areas of midfield.
He joined Lugano in July 2023 from AC Ajaccio, having previously progressed from Ajaccios B team into the first team in France, before moving to Switzerland and increasing his market value during his early months in the Super League.
Cimignanis valuation has fluctuated over recent seasons, rising as high as 2.5m during his time at Lugano before settling back at 2m in June 2026, mirroring his development from a highly rated teenager at Ajaccio to a more established senior player.
There is no indication of a contract end date at Lugano, and no agreement has been reached between the clubs, with the rumour currently at an early stage and Hamburgs interest yet to progress into a completed deal.
