Willy Agada: Hapoel Haifa linked with move for Nigeria striker after Real Zaragoza exit
Nigeria forward Willy Agada, currently without a club after leaving Real Zaragoza, is being linked with a return to Israeli side Hapoel Haifa.
The 26-year-old centre-forward became a free agent on 1 July following a short spell in Spain with Zaragoza, opening the door for a potential move that would not require a transfer fee.
Agada has a reported market value of 600,000 and is being considered by Hapoel Haifa as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the new Ligat ha’Al campaign.
A move back to Haifa would mark a return to familiar surroundings for the Bauchi-born striker, who previously played for the club during the 2020-21 season before making his name in Israel with Hapoel Jerusalem.
Agadas form in Jerusalem led to a transfer to Major League Soccer with Sporting Kansas City in 2022, where his value rose as high as 2.5m during his time in the United States, before subsequent moves to Real Salt Lake City in 2025 and later to Zaragoza in early 2026.
Standing at 1.75m, Agada is an out-and-out centre-forward and has built a career across Israel, MLS and Spain after progressing from youth football to senior level with Hapoel Jerusalem.
The rumoured interest from Hapoel Haifa comes shortly after a period of declining market value during his spells with Real Salt Lake and Zaragoza, following his peak valuation while in Kansas City.
No agreement has been reached and Agada remains unattached, with Hapoel Haifa currently credited with interest in signing the free agent striker.
