Yann Diomandé shuts down PSG talk as Ivory Coast prepare for Norway clash
Ivory Coast forward Yann Diomandé has brushed aside growing speculation linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, insisting his attention remains firmly on the FIFA World Cup as the Elephants prepare for their Round of 16 meeting with Norway.
The talented attacker has become one of the players attracting transfer interest during the tournament, with reports suggesting he is edging closer to a switch to the French champions.
However, Diomandé made it clear that transfer discussions are not occupying his thoughts while he is on international duty.
Addressing reporters during a press conference, the Ivorian international responded with surprise when asked about the reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
“You’re informing me. I don’t have internet, I don’t have Instagram, I don’t have TikTok. My agent is talking to the club, I don’t have any information.”
His comments effectively distanced himself from the speculation, making it clear that any discussions regarding his future are being handled away from the national team camp.
Diomandé stressed that the World Cup represents a unique opportunity that deserves his complete attention, refusing to allow transfer rumours to become a distraction at such an important stage of the competition.
“I won’t say anything, I’m focused on the World Cup.”
The winger expanded on his reasoning, explaining why he has deliberately chosen not to concern himself with developments surrounding his club future while representing his country.
“I don’t want to talk about it, not even with my agent, because it’s a chance to play in a World Cup, it only comes around every four years, so you have to make the most of it.”
For Diomandé, representing Ivory Coast on football’s biggest stage outweighs any uncertainty surrounding his next club. His priority, he said, is helping the national team enjoy a memorable tournament.
“I want to make history with my country and give my best.”
With Ivory Coast now preparing for a crucial knockout encounter against Norway, Diomandé’s message leaves little doubt over where his focus lies.
Rather than discussing potential transfers, the Ivorian forward is concentrating solely on helping his country continue its World Cup journey before any decisions about his club future are addressed.
