Moroccan striker Youssef El Kachati completes move to Stade de Reims
French Ligue 2 side Stade de Reims have confirmed the signing of Moroccan forward Youssef El Kachati on a three-year contract following his move from Dutch club NEC Nijmegen.
The French club officially unveiled the striker on Thursday, adding him to its squad ahead of the new campaign as he begins a new chapter in French football. El Kachati is expected to remain at Stade de Reims until 2028.
In announcing the transfer, the club praised the attacker’s recent performances in the Netherlands, highlighting his impressive development over the last two seasons.
“Over two seasons, Youssef confirmed his potential in the Dutch second division. During the 2024-25 campaign, he played 37 matches, scored 19 goals, and provided six assists,” the Stade de Reims wrote in a press release.
The statement also pointed to his impact during the promotion playoffs, where he found the net five times in six appearances.
Stade de Reims further reflected on El Kachati’s football journey, noting that he began his development at Noordwijk’s academy before progressing to Sparta Rotterdam’s youth setup in 2016. The striker later featured for Westerlo’s U21 side before making the switch to KVV Quick Boys of Katwijk in 2022.
Speaking after completing the transfer, El Kachati expressed excitement about joining the French side and described the move as a major milestone in his career.
“It is a historic club with a great reputation in French football, and I am grateful for the trust the club has placed in me. I look forward to helping the team achieve its goals and sharing my great moments with our supporters,” he said.
The club ended its announcement by welcoming the Moroccan-Dutch forward and expressing confidence that he will strengthen the squad in the coming seasons.
