Liverpool prepare improved bid for Ivorian sensation Yan Diomande
Liverpool are reportedly preparing a new offer for highly-rated RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande after seeing their opening bid rejected by the Bundesliga side.
According to reports, the Premier League giants remain determined to secure the services of the Ivorian attacker despite Leipzig turning down an initial proposal believed to be worth around €100 million.
The Reds are said to view Diomande as one of Europe’s most exciting young attacking talents and are ready to intensify negotiations in an effort to convince the German club to sell. However, RB Leipzig appear unwilling to let their star player leave easily and are reportedly demanding an even bigger transfer fee before entering serious discussions.
As per reports, the Bundesliga outfit could require a package closer to €120 million to consider parting ways with the Ivory Coast international, whose market value has continued to rise following his outstanding performances over the past year.
Diomande is currently representing Côte d’Ivoire at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he has once again demonstrated his immense quality on the global stage. His displays during the tournament have only strengthened interest from Europe’s elite clubs, with scouts and executives closely monitoring his performances.
The Ivorian forward has become one of the standout attacking players of the competition thanks to his pace, creativity, dribbling ability and composure in front of goal. His ability to influence matches at the highest level despite his young age has made him one of the most sought-after talents in world football.
Liverpool’s interest in Diomande reflects the club’s desire to continue rebuilding and strengthening their attacking options ahead of the future. The Merseyside club are believed to see the Ivorian as a player capable of becoming one of the faces of their next generation.
New Liverpool manager Arne Slot is reportedly a strong admirer of the forward’s versatility and attacking intelligence. Diomande’s ability to operate across multiple positions in the frontline makes him an attractive option for Liverpool’s evolving tactical system.
However, Liverpool are not alone in the race. French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be monitoring the situation closely, while several other major European clubs remain attentive to any developments surrounding the player’s future.
PSG are known to be searching for additional attacking firepower and reportedly consider Diomande one of the most promising young forwards currently available on the market. The growing competition for his signature could further increase the transfer fee in the coming weeks.
RB Leipzig, meanwhile, remain in a strong negotiating position. The German club are under no immediate pressure to sell and are fully aware of the player’s rising value, especially after another impressive season combined with his strong World Cup performances.
For Diomande, the current focus remains on helping Ivory Coast progress at the World Cup before any final decision is made regarding his future. Nevertheless, speculation surrounding a potential blockbuster transfer is expected to intensify as the tournament progresses.
