Abderrazak Hamdallah faces fresh pressure from Al-Taawoun supporters during Al-Riyadh clash

Abderrazak Hamdallah came under renewed pressure from Al-Taawoun supporters during their Roshn Saudi League match against Al-Riyadh on Saturday.

The Morocco striker was the subject of chants calling for him to be substituted as Al-Taawoun played away in the Saudi capital in the final fixture of matchweek 11.

Saudi journalist Nawaf Al-Aqeel reported that the incident took place in the 65th minute, with Al-Riyadh leading 1-0. Supporters directed their criticism at head coach Vuk Rasovic, demanding that he remove Hamdallah from the game because of what they viewed as a poor performance.

“Al-Taawoun fans demand that the team’s manager take Abderrazak Hamdallah off, 1-0 to Al-Riyadh, 65th minute,” Al-Aqeel posted on X on 24 October 2026.

The reaction came despite Hamdallah having found the net for Al-Taawoun in the first half. His goal was ruled out after the referee reviewed the incident using video assistant referee technology and determined that he had been offside.

The episode represents the second controversy involving Hamdallah at the club within a week.

In Al-Taawoun’s previous match against Al-Qadsiah, the Moroccan forward was involved in a confrontation with his compatriot and team-mate Ashraf El Mahdioui.

Hamdallah has made nine appearances for Al-Taawoun since the start of the current season. He has scored four goals and provided one assist.
