Zadok Yohanna turns down Saudi millions for Brighton move

Nigerian teenager Zadok Yohanna has reportedly rejected a huge offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah before sealing his move to Brighton.

The 18-year-old winger, signed by AIK from Ikon Allah FA last summer, only truly broke through in Sweden this year but quickly became one of the hottest names on the market.

His rapid impact in Allsvenskan sparked strong interest across Europe, with Premier League clubs leading the chase. Sky Sport Germany reports that Brighton agreed a fee of 28 million euros plus 2 million in bonuses to land the forward. Newcastle and Chelsea were also in the race, with the Daily Mail claiming AIK accepted bids of 21 million pounds plus add-ons from both English rivals.

According to Expressen, Al-Qadsiah then stepped in with an offer matching Brighton’s total package and were even ready to pay the entire sum up front, while also putting a highly lucrative contract on the table for Yohanna.

The exact numbers are unknown, but the youngster is said to have turned it down in favour of Brighton. Chelsea are reported to have slowed their negotiations and were no longer in contention towards the end, clearing the way for Yohanna to sign a deal with Brighton running until the summer of 2031.
