Galatasaray will not trigger Sacha Boey purchase option

Galatasaray have decided against activating their purchase option for Sacha Boey, meaning the right-back will return to Bayern Munich this summer.

According to Sky Sport, the agreed buy option was valued at approximately €15 million, but the Turkish champions now consider this fee excessive.

Sacha Boey originally joined Bayern from Galatasaray in January 2024 before returning to Istanbul on loan in February 2025 seeking additional playing time. During his temporary spell, the defender made 16 appearances and contributed two goals, though he recently lost his regular starting position.

Despite rejecting the purchase clause, Galatasaray remain keen on retaining the player’s services. The club is currently exploring alternative arrangements, including negotiating a reduced transfer fee or potentially securing another loan agreement with the Bundesliga giants.

Sacha Boey is now expected to return to Munich when the summer transfer window opens, where Bayern will reassess his future at the Allianz Arena.

He has made 10 appearances and scored one goal in the Turkish top flight this season.
