Carling Knockout quarter-final draw set for after final last-16 match

The Premier Soccer League will hold the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final draw immediately after the final last-16 tie on Wednesday evening.

That match will see Durban City face Stellenbosch FC at Chatsworth Stadium, with the draw taking place after the final whistle.

Golden Arrows, Siwelele FC, AmaZulu and Sekhukhune United have already secured their places in the last eight following the weekend’s matches. The remaining quarter-finalists will be decided tomorrow night and on Wednesday evening.

The Premier Soccer League has also confirmed how the draw will be conducted.

How the draw will work

Three bowls will be used, named Pot A, Pot B and Pot C.

Pot A will contain the names of the four seeded clubs, while Pot C will hold the four unseeded clubs. Pot B will initially be empty and will be used to determine which team plays at home in each quarter-final.

The process will begin with one ball being selected from Pot A and placed in Pot B without being opened. A ball will then be taken from Pot C and also placed unopened into Pot B.

The first ball drawn from Pot B will be the home team for the fixture, while the second ball will be the away team.

That sequence will be repeated until all four quarter-final fixtures have been drawn.
