Maghreb Fez sets high price tag as Soufiane Benjdida attracts summer transfer interest
Maghreb de Fès have reportedly placed a significant financial valuation on their striker Soufiane Benjdida, amid growing interest ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC have shown strong interest in signing the forward after monitoring him in recent months. The club initially enquired about his availability during the final stages of the winter transfer window, but negotiations did not progress.
According to reports, discussions stalled after Maghreb Fez set a demanding asking price of around $2.5 million for the striker, effectively ending Al Ahly’s pursuit at that stage.
The same reports indicate that Benjedida himself is not currently open to a move to the Egyptian Premier League. Instead, the player is believed to prioritise a transfer to Europe or a potential switch to the Saudi Pro League in the next transfer window.
Benjedida has enjoyed a standout season in Morocco’s top flight, scoring 14 goals in the national championship after just 16 appearances, making him one of the league’s most in-form forwards.
He remains under contract with Maghreb Fez until the summer of 2028, and his market value is estimated at around €1.3 million according to Transfermarkt.
With his performances continuing to attract attention, competition for his signature is expected to intensify as the summer window approaches.
