Raja goes digital for ticketing

Raja Club Athletic has unveiled a new fully digital stadium entry system aimed at tightening security, improving matchday organisation, and eliminating ticket fraud.

The initiative, introduced in collaboration with public authorities, marks a major shift from traditional paper-based ticketing to a more controlled, technology-driven approach.

Going forward, supporters will be required to access matches exclusively through digital tickets issued via the club’s official mobile application.

Fans must download the app, create a personal account, and complete their ticket purchase within the platform. Once confirmed, tickets are stored directly in the application and scanned at the stadium entrance.

The club has made it clear that no other formats will be accepted, with paper tickets, printed copies, screenshots, or unofficial versions all deemed invalid.

Season ticket holders remain the only exception, as they will continue to gain entry using their existing membership cards.

Alongside the new system, Raja has introduced stricter rules governing stadium access. Every individual entering the venue, including children, must possess a valid ticket or access card.

The club has also emphasised that loitering within or around the stadium without proper credentials will not be permitted.

A key feature of the reform is enhanced ticket traceability. Each digital ticket is tied to a specific user account, making it non-transferable and unusable by anyone else. This measure is designed to curb unauthorised resale and eliminate the circulation of counterfeit or duplicated tickets.

The move directly targets long-standing concerns over black market activity and ticket manipulation, particularly during high-demand fixtures. By linking tickets to verified identities, the club aims to close loopholes that have allowed intermediaries to exploit demand and inflate prices.

Beyond security, the system is also expected to improve operational efficiency. Raja anticipates smoother crowd movement and reduced congestion at entry points, contributing to a more seamless and organised experience for supporters on matchdays.

This development forms part of the club’s broader push to modernise its operations and align with global standards in sports event management, with a long-term focus on enhancing fan experience, improving efficiency, and ensuring greater transparency.
