Kennedy Boateng linked with Kocaelispor move after FC Dinamo exit
Togo-Ghana defender Kennedy Boateng, currently without a club after leaving FC Dinamo, is being linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig side Kocaelispor.
Boateng, 29, left Dinamo on 1 July 2026 after two seasons with the Romanian club, having joined from Austria’s Austria Lustenau in 2024 on a free transfer. The proposed switch would take the centre-back to Turkey following his spell in Romania’s SuperLiga.
The right-footed defender made 53 SuperLiga appearances during his career, scoring six goals and providing one assist. He has also played in Portugal’s top flight, Austria’s Bundesliga and the Austrian second tier.
Boateng began his European career with LASK after moving from Ghanaian club WAFA SC in 2016. He won the Austrian Second League twice, with LASK in 2016-17 and SV Ried in 2019-20.
No transfer fee or contract details have been given for the reported move to Kocaelispor. Boateng remains without a club, with the rumour recorded on 2 August 2026.
