Tahirys Dos Santos prepares book after returning to football

Tahirys Dos Santos is preparing to share his story in a forthcoming book after returning to football months after surviving a nightclub fire in Crans-Montana.

The young full-back, who plays for the reserve side of FC Metz, has resumed training and competitive action following the incident last November, in which he narrowly escaped harm. His recovery marks a significant step forward after a traumatic experience that could have ended his career.

Now back on the pitch, Dos Santos is also nearing another milestone, with expectations that he will soon sign his first professional contract.

His return to football comes alongside a personal project that will document one of the most difficult periods of his life.

The book, titled A Second to Be Reborn, is scheduled for release in early May and has been co-written with Arnaud Ramsay. It will provide an account of the events surrounding the fire, as well as the aftermath and the process of recovery.

According to a summary presented in the third person, the publication will revisit the night of the incident, which occurred during New Year’s celebrations, and detail the circumstances that led to the life-threatening situation.

It will also explore the physical and psychological impact of the event, offering insight into the challenges faced during rehabilitation.

The narrative is expected to go beyond the immediate incident, addressing the longer-term consequences of the trauma and the effort required to return to a sense of normality.

Dos Santos’s journey back to football is central to the story, reflecting both resilience and determination in the face of adversity.

His return to the field with Metz’s reserve team highlights a gradual rebuilding process, as he continues to regain confidence and fitness.

The prospect of a first professional contract further underlines the progress made since the incident.

The book aims to provide a detailed account of a defining moment in his life, combining personal reflection with a broader perspective on recovery after trauma.

For Dos Santos, the project represents another stage in moving forward, transforming a near-fatal experience into a story of survival and renewal.
