Benin midfielder Rodolfo Aloko has been ruled out of the national team’s March training camp in Casablanca after visa difficulties prevented him from joining the squad.

Head coach Gernot Rohr had initially included the player in his plans for the international break, with the Cheetahs already assembled in Morocco’s economic capital. However, the late development has forced a change to the team’s preparations.

According to information relayed by Mega Sport, Aloko was expected to travel to join his teammates but was unable to complete the process due to administrative complications.

The Benin national team’s communications department confirmed that the withdrawal was not linked to injury, but rather to issues surrounding his visa.

The setback comes at a time when the squad is beginning to build momentum in camp. Despite the absence of several players still arriving, training sessions have continued with intensity as the coaching staff focus on readiness for the upcoming fixtures.

Aloko’s withdrawal presents a challenge for the technical team, particularly in midfield where his presence would have offered additional options.

Rohr must now adjust his plans and rely on the available players to maintain balance within the squad.

Even so, the disruption has not significantly affected the overall mood within the camp. Preparations remain on course, with players continuing to work under the guidance of the coaching staff in Casablanca.

The March international window is a key period for the Cheetahs as they look to strengthen cohesion and refine their approach.

While Aloko’s absence reduces depth in one area, the focus remains on ensuring the team is fully prepared for the matches ahead.

As the squad settles into its training base, attention remains firmly on the work being done on the pitch, with the coaching staff seeking to maximise the potential of the players available despite the late change to their plans.
