Motherwell linked with Ilves attacking midfielder Jardell Kanga

Swedish and DR Congo attacking midfielder Jardell Kanga is the subject of a reported move from Finnish club Ilves to Scottish Premiership side Motherwell.

Kanga, 20, has established himself as a regular for Ilves this season, making 20 appearances in the Veikkausliiga and contributing 10 goals and five assists. He has also started all six of the club’s UEFA Conference League qualifying matches, registering one goal and three assists.

The left-footed attacking midfielder joined Ilves in July 2025 after a loan spell at the club from Hammarby. He had previously been part of Bayer Leverkusen’s under-19 setup and began his senior career with Swedish club Brommapojkarna.

Kanga’s current market value is listed at €300,000, while his Ilves contract runs until 31 December 2027. The available information does not indicate that a transfer fee or agreement has been reached with Motherwell.

Ilves compete in Finland’s Veikkausliiga, while Motherwell play in the Scottish Premiership. Kanga’s 2026 league record accounts for 45% of Ilves’ goals involving either a scorer or provider, and he has started 71% of the club’s possible league matches.
