Libyan side Al Ittihad have stepped up preparations for the decisive phase of their domestic campaign with a training camp in El Jadida, club executive Abdelmajid Saleh has confirmed.

The team arrived in the Moroccan coastal city in the past few hours and is set to engage in a series of high-profile friendly matches as part of the programme.

Al Ittihad will first face Maghreb Fassi on Wednesday before taking on Wydad Casablanca on March 28.

According to Saleh, the camp will officially commence on Tuesday under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Rulani Mokwena, with the full squad in attendance aside from goalkeeper Mohamed Ayad, who is currently on international duty.

The training camp forms a key part of the club’s build-up to the closing stages of the Libyan Premier League season, with the technical team focused on improving both tactical sharpness and physical conditioning.

Saleh noted that the coaching staff will use the two friendly fixtures to closely assess the squad, providing opportunities for both regular starters and fringe players to stake their claim for selection.

Beyond performance evaluation, the friendlies are also expected to serve as a platform for fine-tuning tactical details and strengthening team chemistry as Al Ittihad gear up for a crucial run of fixtures in the league.
