Moroccan striker Soufiane Rahimi nets match-winning brace for Al Ain after receiving a call-up for March friendlies
Soufiane Rahimi delivered a strong response to his recent national team call-up by scoring twice for Al Ain FC in their President’s Cup clash against Dubai United FC on Sunday.
The Moroccan forward, who was recently included in the squad by new head coach Mohamed Ouahbi, found the back of the net twice in extra time, striking in the 102nd and 105th minutes to seal an important result for his side.
Rahimi’s performance marks a return to scoring form following the Africa Cup of Nations, as he looks to build momentum at both club and international level. His resurgence comes at a time when his brother, Hussein Rahimi, is also enjoying an impressive run of form.
Morocco are set to face Ecuador on March 27 before taking on Paraguay on March 31 in a pair of international friendlies.
Both fixtures are part of Morocco’s ongoing preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as the Atlas Lions continue to fine-tune their squad under new leadership.
Rahaimi will be hoping to impress during the two matches to increase his chances of making the final Morocco squad for the World Cup.
