Nigeria to open camp in Turkey on March 24 ahead of Iran, Jordan friendlies
Nigeria will step up preparations for their upcoming international assignments with a training camp scheduled to open on March 24, 2026, in Antalya, Turkey.
The camp forms a crucial part of the team’s build-up to a four-nation invitational tournament, originally planned to be hosted in Jordan. The tournament will provide the Super Eagles with valuable competitive action as they continue to fine-tune their squad and tactics.
Under the guidance of head coach Eric Chelle, the team is expected to use the Antalya camp to assess player fitness levels, integrate new faces, and strengthen cohesion within the squad ahead of the friendly matches.
Nigeria will play two international friendlies during the tournament, starting with a clash against Iran national football team on March 27. The encounter is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 p.m. local time and is expected to test the Super Eagles against a disciplined and tactically organized Asian side.
The three-time African champions will then take on host nation Jordan national football team on March 31, with kickoff set for 8:00 p.m. local time. The match is anticipated to draw strong home support, providing another stern examination for the Nigerian side.
The Antalya training camp is seen as a strategic move, offering a controlled environment for preparation while exposing the players to competitive fixtures against diverse opposition.
With a blend of experienced stars and emerging talents expected to be invited, the Super Eagles will be aiming to build momentum, sharpen their tactical identity, and strengthen squad depth as they look ahead to future continental and global competitions.
The upcoming friendlies will not only serve as preparation matches but also as an opportunity for players to stake their claim for regular places in the national team setup.
