REVEALED: Why FIFA has banned Zamalek from registering new players
Zamalek Club has been hit with a registration ban for the thirteenth time, sources from the club have confirmed.
The Egyptian giants are grappling with financial difficulties, which have prompted several former players and coaches to approach FIFA over unpaid dues.
According to insiders, the latest suspension stems from Zamalek’s failure to settle payments owed to Moroccan side Ittihad Tanger for the signing of Abdelhamid Maali.
The club had agreed to pay $350,000 in two installments but did not complete the transaction, prompting Ittihad Tanger to lodge a complaint with FIFA.
This marks the 13th instance in which Zamalek’s registration has been frozen due to financial disputes.
The White Team faces multiple claims from players and clubs, including Maali and Ittihad Tanger, Portuguese side Estrela da Amadora over Chico Banza, Belgian club Charleroi for Palestinian forward Oday Dabbagh, Morocco’s Renaissance Zemamra regarding Salah Musaddiq, and Ukrainian club Oleksandriya over Brazilian Juan Bezerra.
The recurring financial disputes continue to cast a shadow over Zamalek’s operations, affecting both transfers and player registrations.
