Evan Ndicka’s goalscoring form reaches new heights for AS Roma
Evan Ndicka set a new personal scoring record as AS Roma continued their Europa League campaign, with the defender finding the net against Bologna on Thursday.
The goal marked his second in the competition this season and took his overall tally to five across all competitions, the highest return of his club career in a single campaign.
It is a milestone that underlines his growing influence, particularly given his defensive role.
Ndicka’s form has been especially notable in recent weeks. Three of his five goals have come in his last three Serie A appearances, highlighting a surge in attacking contribution.
His current total surpasses his previous best of four goals, achieved during the 2021-2022 season while playing for Eintracht Frankfurt.
While primarily deployed as a central defender, Ndicka has increasingly demonstrated his effectiveness in forward areas.
Across his club career, he has now scored 18 goals, a return that reflects his ability to contribute beyond his defensive duties. Despite this, he is yet to open his account at international level with the Ivory Coast.
His performances this season illustrate the profile of a modern centre-back — one who combines defensive reliability with a consistent attacking presence.
His timing in the box and ability to capitalise on opportunities have made him a notable threat, particularly during set-piece situations and advanced phases of play.
With the campaign still ongoing, there remains scope for Ndicka to further extend his tally.
His current trajectory suggests he could continue to add to his record before the end of the season.
For Roma, his contributions offer an additional dimension, strengthening both defensive stability and attacking options.
For Ndicka, this campaign already stands out as a landmark in his development, marking a new level of productivity and consistency in front of goal.
