Al Ahly have no plans to sign Fiston Mayele from Pyramids – Sources
Egyptian giants Al Ahly have reportedly ruled out any plans to sign Malian striker Fiston Mayele, despite circulating rumors linking the player with a move to the Red Castle.
The speculation came after reports suggested that Al Ahly were eyeing the Pyramids forward as a potential reinforcement, but club insiders have dismissed these claims.
According to sources close to the club, Mayele is not currently part of Al Ahly’s transfer strategy. The club is focusing on restructuring key positions and assessing its squad needs before considering any new signings.
Decisions regarding potential additions will be made only after the internal review is completed, with relevant staff setting clear criteria and identifying suitable candidates to join the team.
Mayele, 31, joined Pyramids in the summer of 2023 from Tanzanian side Young Africans. His contract with the Egyptian Premier League side extends until June 2026, covering the remainder of the current season and beyond.
Since his arrival, he has made a significant impact, featuring in 33 matches across various competitions and scoring 10 goals, demonstrating his consistency and attacking prowess.
While Mayele has been a key player for Pyramids this season, the reports suggest that Al Ahly will remain patient and selective in the transfer market, prioritizing strategic squad planning over immediate signings.
