Libya to host UNAF U17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this month
Libya has been confirmed as the host of the 22nd edition of the UNAF U-17 Tournament, which will serve as the North African qualifiers for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
The competition is scheduled to take place from March 24 to April 5, 2026.
All matches will be staged in the city of Benghazi, with games set to be played across three venues: Martyrs of Benina Stadium, Benghazi International Stadium, and Military Union Stadium.
Tournament Format and Teams
The qualifiers will be played in a round-robin mini-league format, with each team facing the others once. Five national teams from the North African zone will compete for places at the continental tournament.
The participating teams are: Libya (hosts), Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia.
Qualification Stakes
At the end of the competition, the top three teams in the standings will secure qualification for the 2026 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
However, Morocco has already booked its place at the tournament after being confirmed as host of the final competition, scheduled to run from April 25 to May 15, 2026.
