Moussa Diaby: Al-Ittihad right winger linked with move to Dortmund in Germany

Borussia Dortmund are weighing up a move for Al-Ittihad winger Moussa Diaby, with the deal currently rated at a 30% probability.

The 26-year-old France‑ and Mali‑eligible right winger is being linked with a return to the Bundesliga less than two years after leaving Bayer Leverkusen for Aston Villa and a subsequent switch to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad in July 2024.

Diaby’s current market value is listed at €28.00m, and with no contract expiry date publicly confirmed at Al-Ittihad, there is already speculation over whether the former PSG academy product could seek an exit in the next window, either via a permanent transfer or by running down his deal to move as a free agent at a later stage.

Born in Paris on 7 July 1999, Diaby rose through Paris Saint‑Germain’s youth ranks, graduating from their U17 and U19 sides before stepping up to PSG B and briefly heading to Italy on loan with Crotone in 2018. He then broke into PSG’s first team prior to a 2019 transfer to Bayer Leverkusen, where his performances in the Bundesliga established him as one of Europe’s most direct left‑footed wide forwards.

A big-money move to Aston Villa followed in July 2023, as he adapted quickly to the Premier League before joining Al‑Ittihad ahead of the 2024‑25 campaign. His market value peaked at €60m during his time at Villa in late 2023, but has since adjusted to €28m as of December 2025 with the Saudi club.

Diaby, who typically operates on the right flank but can feature across the attack, continues to attract interest in Europe because of his pace and productivity in the final third. Should Dortmund decide to firm up their interest, a return to Germany could offer the winger another high-profile platform and potentially reshape the next phase of his career.
